Watching her with the small girl, Adel made my heart thump with happiness seeing the smile she had plastered on her face, and yet sadness at the thought we may never have another.

“Some day when this is almost over we will.” Luna speaks out.

“We will what?” I question her.

She starts to giggle and I realize she had just read my mind.

“You know something I don’t?”

“Nothing is for certain but I feel it in my heart, someday we will be blessed with a princess.”

“Celia might not be able to control what she sees or when, but she has yet to be wrong!”

I lower my head in the nook of her neck brushing my cheek against hers.

The possibility that we may still have a child is beyond joyful, but I reserve my emotions as nothing is certain until Hades is dealt with.

“I love you my goddess.”

“I love you my husband.”

“They’re near!” Sebastian's voice breaks our silence.

We follow him down to the garden where

Duncan, Baron, Celia, Alexander Kauff and several of the vampire clan await.

“Just as we discussed earlier, we wait in the east and west. Once they draw near Celia will cast her light spell and we flank them from behind. May you fight with bravery and die with honor!” I add as I always did before battle.

Sebastian, Duncan, and Baron pound their chests with a fist and raise their swords. Others follow suit even the vampires. As we all run to take our positions, I take note that my goddess is not with me as intended. Instead she stands out in the middle of the field. Her dress glows as she reaches up with one arm stretched to the heavens and what looks like a sword forms from the air. The moment her light dims, one of the three vampires that had been set out to bring the demons to us, runs for her yelling.

“Run!” The vampire screamed.

Without warning a demon swoops down from the sky clutching the vampire by his shoulders.

“They fly now?” I hear Duncan say from across the field with a nervous laugh.

I watch with uncertainty as Luna leaves her position.

“What the hell are you doing”! I attempt to mind link to Luna.

With no reply, I ready myself to shift and join her when Sebastian grabs my shoulders.

”Wait” he demands.

I look back at him with a glare, but quickly follow his eyes back to Luna as she is coming down with her sword. The vampire drops at her feet as the demon lets out a horrific screech before evaporating into ash. She holds a hand out helping him up and whispers something to him before he quickly runs to the safety of the home.

The ground begins to rumble alerting us to the arrival of the..

“Demon hounds.” I whisper.

A sudden darkness fills the sky as dozens of ear piercing shrieks blast in our ears. Causing some of us to become confused. A handful of winged demons fly straight for Luna, and this time I cannot remain back.

I start to shift to my wolf, but freeze when she drops to a knee leaning on her sword with her head bowed.
